Lillian Wang was born and raised in Singapore. She attended Law School at the National University of Singapore where she obtained her LL.B. After graduation, she worked for three years as a scriptwriter for Mediacorp Studios, writing sitcoms and sketch comedy for television. In 2000, she won an Overseas Film Scholarship from the Singapore Film Commission to pursue an MFA in Directing and Production at the UCLA School of Theater, Film & Television. While at UCLA, she wrote and directed several short films, and was a finalist in the 2004 Coca-Cola Refreshing Filmmaker Award competition – one of ten nationwide. She has also twice been the recipient of the Singapore Film Commission Short Film Grant. Lillian has since returned to Singapore where she continues to write and direct for film and television. Most recently, she participated in the 2006 Pusan Promotion Plan with a feature project, Fallen, produced by LeBrocquyFraser Productions. |
